Automated solution for the medical sector
As part of a project for a major company in the cryogenics sector, we designed a special machine for manufacturing thermal insulation sleeves for tubes. This innovative industrial unit is designed to produce thermally-insulated tubes for use in the medical industry, guaranteeing optimal thermal insulation.
The machine ensures the uniform application of insulating materials (paper and aluminum) around tubes of various diameters and lengths. The sleeves produced are then cut and are ready for use in the installation of medical tubing.
This solution has provided our customer with reliable and consistent production via an automated system, shortening production cycle times and improving process quality.
Technical overview of the machine
- Mobile dispenser trolley: equipped with four motorized dispensers to enable simultaneous use of several rolls (paper and aluminum). Each dispenser is fitted with an electromagnetic brake, tension sensors, a pneumatic cylinder for automatic orientation, and an end-of-material detection system.
- Fixed and swiveling mandrel: to rotate and hold the tool tube, with pneumatic clamping for fast and secure locking.
- Mobile support trolley: lightweight aluminum structure with adjustable casters, to ensure stability while adapting to different tube diameters.
- Industrial automation system: controlled with a programmable logic controller (PLC) and HMI control system, for easy operation of the machine.
- Safety features: light curtains and emergency stop in compliance with CE standards.
